Weekly Newsletter - 16th June 2024

Dear Parishioners,

Sincere thanks to everyone who donated to the special collection for the Sacred Heart Novena. We raised over €3,000 for Jesuit youth ministry. This will help us run events for young people and our upcoming “All Things New” retreat at the end of this month. See posters for details.

Also please be mindful that the summer Mass schedule comes into effect on 1st July —no Friday evening or Sunday evening Masses for July and August.

Every blessing,

Fr. Niall

OUR RECENTLY DECEASED

We remember in prayer those who have died recently:

Lilly Curran

May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Amen.

WE LOOK BACK IN THANKSGIVING TO LOOK FORWARD IN HOPE

St. Francis Xavier’s Church became a Parish Church 50 years ago. We are parish for another 45 days before we become a public church run by the Jesuits and join the Pro-Cathedral Parish.

If you have memories or photos of the Parish from the last 50 years send us a few by email sfx@jesuit.ie. We may post a selection on social media (with your permission)

EXPLORE THE BOOK OF RUTH

Would you like an opportunity to continue to: open yourself to the inner wholeness and transformation offered to you by God’s Word?; discover hidden gems in the Biblical text through a close reading of it?; explore Biblical characters, experiences, themes, values and emotions and how they shape your life?; enhance your capacity to hear God’s Word by fine tuning the quality of your presence and your active listening? If so, this invitation to explore the Book of Ruth may be for you.

A golden thread of God’s loving kindness weaves its way through the Book of Ruth. During our time together we will explore how this theme of loving kindness emerges and evolves through various encounters within the story. We will also reflect on how this theme influences our own lives and choices, including our relationships with God, self, others and the environment.
