End the week with a time of prayer and reflection. Friday Night Candle Light is a simple, candlelit evening of prayer, a moment for you to slow down and reconnect with God. This is an evening of Eucharistic adoration, when Jesus is present to us in a special way. Confessions are also available. Mass 6pm | Holy Hour 6:30 - 7:30pm
Jacob, our young adult volunteer, will lead the group through Colossians, giving the input on the context of each chapter. The input is followed by small group conversation and a cuppa. Sessions are on Monday evenings at 7.30 pm in the Coffee Room. We are starting again after Christmas break on 15th January. Everyone is welcome, beginners and scholars alike!

Our 7:30pm Sunday evening Mass is our young adult Mass, aiming at helping young adults to connect with God and each other. This Mass is followed by our young adult social.
If you are over 18, a student or a young professional, this is the Mass for you! We know that it isn’t easy to be a young Catholic and that’s why finding your community is really important.
Outside of our regular events, we have some exciting one-off or ad-hoc young adult events throughout the year.
Our upcoming young adult socials are announced at the Sunday evening Mass and have included pub nights, coastal walks, mini golf and more. In the summer, we invite all young adults of the parish to come with us on our summer retreat.
At Gardiner Street Parish, we want young people to have their voices heard and for them to be in the rooms where decisions are made. That’s why we have a youth council, made up of Catholic young adults.
If you have ideas for or just want to connect with our young adult ministry here at Welcome to St Francis Xavier’s Church, we would love to hear from you!
