Happy 100th Birthday!

At the 11am Mass this Sunday we welcome Kathleen McCormack who will celebrate her 100th birthday on Tuesday 11th September. Kathleen spent 34 years in Upper Gardiner Street working at the Iona B&B at No.11 and returns to us with her extended family to prepare spiritually for the great day.

Coeliac or Gluten Intolerant

If you are Coeliac or Gluten intolerant and wish to receive communion please come up to the left side of the Altar at the sign of Peace and the celebrant will offer you the Precious Blood of Christ. We are not currently aware how many of our parishioners are Gluten intolerant or Coeliac. If you are, would you mind letting us know and we can review our arrangements to make it simpler to receive communion.

October Talks

Our October Talks series begins on Saturday 6th October with a heartwarming introduction to the stories that Jesus loved: this is an introduction by Jessie Rogers to the Old Testament, a text we’re sometimes even afraid of. On the following Saturday (13th October) Angela Harding (best known for her role as Mary in RTE’s period drama Strumpet City) will lead a workshop on reading techniques at Mass: this aims to help our readers get to the heart of the matter in reading Scripture in public. The third Saturday (20th October) focuses on Pope Francis’s quiet revolution in the Church: Fr. Gerry O’Hanlon SJ will propose how this is going to change things in Ireland. And finally, on Saturday 27th October Fr. Brendan Comerford SJ will show us what Pope Francis means by “discernment”.
All of these mornings begin at 10am sharp. There will be a coffee break and the morning ends with optional soup and sandwiches. A small offering is requested.

Junior Gospel Choir

The Junior Gospel Choir will sing at the 12.30 Mass on the 3rd Sunday of October (21st October). This is a new venture, launched last year and supported by Larkin Community College and Gardiner Street Primary School.
