Lenten Talks Series 2017 ‘From Ashes to Light’  continue this Thursdays at 7.30 pm in St Francis Xavier’s Church. Kieran O’Mahony, an Augustinian priest with a penetrating analysis of the Bible will explore the Sunday readings for Lent and offer insights to help us make the message our own. These evenings will be spiritually nourishing for everyone but especially if you’re in a Lectio Divina group.

Derek Cassidy SJ RIP

Fr Derek Cassidy SJ died peacefully at 7.20 on Thursday morning 30 March, in Beaumont Hospital. Derek served as Rector of Belvedere College SJ since 2002 and was a much-loved member of the College community. He worked in school chaplaincy for a large part of his Jesuit life. Derek was a member of the Jesuit community in Gardiner St, Dublin and regularly celebrated Mass in St Francis Xavier’s. He will be sadly missed by his community, his family, friends and Jesuit brothers. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dilís.

Please pray for Sandor Tottosi who will be baptized, confirmed and receive the Eucharist for the first time during the Easter Vigil at Gardiner Street this year.  Sandor has been preparing for entry into the church following the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.  He has already been quietly active in the parish since he started the journey and after Easter begins the final stage of initiation called the Mystagogy
