PILGRIMAGE TO KNOCK SHRINE

A joint pilgrimage of St Francis Xavier’s, Gardiner Street with St Joseph’s, East Wall

SUNDAY 25th September 2022.

Come to Knock and experience Ireland’s National Marian Shrine.

Cost all-in: €50. Includes tea/coffee break on way to Knock and dinner on return journey.

FIRST FRIDAY

From Friday 7 October, every first Friday of the month, Mass will be celebrated at 7 pm followed by Holy Hour.

NEWLY BAPTISED

We welcome Averi, Aria, Myla and Isabelle  into the Christian Community through the Sacrament of Baptism celebrated at St. Francis Xavier’s Church.

May the Holy Spirit be with them and guide them always.

HOME VISITS

If you or somebody you know would like to be visited at home by our visitation ministers, please contact Sr. Eilis at sfx@jesuit.ie or phone 01 8363411 and leave your name and contact details.

Visitations will start in early October.

 

VOLUNTEER INFORMATION EVENING

As more and more Parish activities start up, there is a need for more volunteers (Hospitality team, readers, minister of Eucharistic, Baptismal preparation team, collectors, Church décor, eco activities). We’ll have a volunteer information evening on 29th September at 7.00 pm.

All welcome!

ECO-CONGREGATION NEWS

The growing season is coming to an end, so after Sunday 11.00 am Mass some of the “polytunnel volunteers” will meet in the garden to plan for Autumn and Winter.        

ALTAR SERVERS

“Being an Altar Server is a Call to Prayer and Mission.”

Gardiner Street Parish provides girls and boys with the opportunity to grow stronger in their faith and become more active in the celebration of the Mass as altar servers.

Requirements

Age 10-12

Commitment  to service to the community

Attending training sessions.

Skills

 Is comfortable in front of people

 Can show the proper attitude during the performance of tasks with respect, reverence, attention, and care.

 Has a willingness to learn about the structure of the liturgy,

Spiritual Exercises – Learning to live & love with Jesus

Each morning begins with solid input from the guest speakers, followed by a chance to deepen a question or a text in a simple prayer exercise.

BLESSED CARLO ACUTIS EXHIBITION

The Blessed Carlo Acutis International Exhibition of the Miracles of the Eucharist will be at Blessed Sacrament Shrine on Bachelors Walk on September 19, 20 and 21.

VERDI’S REQUIEM WITH OUR LADY’S CHORAL SOCIETY

The magnificent Verdi Requiem featuring Our Lady’s Choral Society with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and wonderful soloists conducted by Proinnsias Ó Duinn.  This concert will be dedicated to the many families and friends of those who died from Covid-19 during the pandemic.
