SACRED HEART NOVENA SPECIAL COLLECTION

Adong Sophia underwent major spinal surgery at Norvik Hospital. Kampala on 31st August 2022. The surgery was made possible by everyone who donated to our special collection in aid of Adong Sophia’s back surgery. We raised €6,500 which paid for the surgery and for the ambulance to bring her safely back home to Northern Uganda, a trip of 400 km. The surgery was successful but she will need three months of bed rest to allow her spine to heal and this will be followed by an appointment with her surgeon and then a period of intense physiotherapy. I will continue to give updates on her recovery.

Fr. Richard O’Dwyer SJ

CROSSCARE ANNUAL APPEAL

The annual Crosscare collection will take place at all Masses next weekend, September 17 and 18. This year, Crosscare is looking for help for its Homeless Prevention and Food Poverty Support Services – both of which are coming under increasing demand from people struggling to find accommodation and families coping with increases in fuel prices and the cost of living. We ask for your support for Crosscare in next weekend’s collection or by donating online at www.crosscare.ie.
